Chelsi - Maternity
I was so honored to take maternity photos for Chelsi and her beautiful family. Not only is Chelsi expecting, but it is what is sometimes referred to as a rainbow pregnancy (or rainbow baby). A rainbow only comes after the storm. The storm in this case being the loss of their baby Everleigh Autumn (10-4-13). Everleigh developed a tumor and passed shortly after, Chelsi gave birth at just 26 weeks.
I asked Chelsi if I could share her story because October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. This is a subject very near to my heart for a number of reasons. Not only did my mother miscarry two babies before having me, but my sister-in-law also lost a baby back in 2009. A quote I saw on Facebook recently read, "There is a unique pain that comes from preparing a place in your heart for a child that never comes." - David Platt. I don't know the quoter but I know the quote to be true.
With that said, it thrills me to take such gorgeous photos of Chelsi, I cannot wait to not only learn the gender of this baby, but to meet the baby and photograph him/her through out their entire first year. Congrats Chelsi and Michael! (And big brother Jaxton!) See you soon!
